Willis Davis, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 9, 2024, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Willis was born on December 23, 1944 to James and Ruby (Kincaid) Davis in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He was a truck driver for many years and later worked as a roofer. Willis enjoyed watching football and going to Prairie Meadows. He also enjoyed playing cards but his favorite pastime was fishing.

Willis is survived by his children, Michele (Bryan) Bertrand and Willis (Amanda) Davis, Jr.; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle) Bertrand, Steven Bertrand, Alex (Nick) Jorgenson, Whitney Davis and Molly Davis; great-grandchildren, Declan and Mathilda Jorgenson and one on the way; sister, Shirley Boone; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Willis is preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Avon Cemetery in Des Moines.
