Viola Matlage

Viola Matlage, 90, passed away at her home on May 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. No services are planned at this time.

Viola was born December 21, 1933, in Little Sioux, Iowa to George and Geraldine (Rife) Bothwell. She married Arthur Matlage and the couple was blessed with four daughters. Viola loved painting and gardening. Her husband enjoyed collecting and polishing stones which she turned into beautiful jewelry.

Viola is survived by her daughters, Jeanette (Donald) Steger, Sandy (Greg) Winchell and Anna (Phil) Heiser; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Arthur Matlage and daughter Terry.
