Verona “Vee” Estelle (Taylor) Schillinger at the age of 70 passed away on April 20, 2026 surrounded by her family after a long battle of medical conditions.

Vee is survived by her son, Billy (Jodi) Schillinger; granddaughters, Keierra (Anthony) Celsi and Rileigh (Timber Stewart) Schillinger; brother, Van (Cindy) Taylor; sister, Charlye (Bill Hull) Henderson; niece Keri (Jeff) Collins; along with extended family of nieces and nephews. Vee was to be promoted to great-grandmother in September.

She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and brother.

The pallbearers that will be carrying Vee to her final resting place next to her husband, Jeff, will include, Anthony Celsi, Timber Stewart, Pear Messer and Jeff Collins.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 1:00p.m, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family or to Hospice of the Midwest, 9249 Northpark Dr., Johnston, Iowa 50131, in loving memory of Vee.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate care team with Hospice of the Midwest for their exceptional care, comfort and kindness shown to Vee and her family.
