Tommie E. Olson, 75, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home on January 18, 2024.
Tommie was born August 9, 1948 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Laverne and Darlene (Griffith) Olson. He graduated from Onawa High School in 1966. Tommie proudly served 8 years in the United States Army, including 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion. Tommie was a homebuilder and also worked in the air freight industry. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing poker and blackjack. Tommie was a proud stock owner of the Green Bay Packers, a true Nebraska Cornhusker fan and he also loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Tommie is survived by his loving wife, Kay; son, Quinn Pease; step-children, Wayne Schroeder and Jodi Garvin; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Tim Olson; and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shari Lea Boucher; and daughter, Angelica Olson.
The family will greet friends Friday, January 26, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Tommie will be laid to rest with military honors on Friday at 12:30 pm at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
