Terry Ray Young
Des Moines, Iowa
Terry Ray Young, 63, passed away on June 9, 2025, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Hospital. He was born on May 29, 1962, to Dale and Patricia Young (Callahan) in Creston, Iowa.
Terry’s biggest joys in life were his daughter, Maddie; his annual fishing trip to Canada with the “boys”; golfing whenever possible and spending time with family and friends. He had a huge heart, was a fun-loving guy with a great sense of humor, always the life of the party with a story to share, a joke to tell or a comment to make. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers-in-law Darren and Scott, and his best friend of over 50 years, Tim.
He loved being a pressman and took great pride in his job. He was with Mittera Group for 30+ years. He was a loyal friend to many, always willing to help with a project when asked.
Terry is survived by Brenna Young; daughter Maddie (Sean); son Brett (Ashley); mother Pat Brown; brothers, Jerry Young, Curtis (Suzanne) Young and Kyle Young (Jamie); mother-in-law Elaine Beauchamp; in-laws Deb and Scott Smith, Sherry and Darren Warth; nieces and nephews, Whitney (Craig) Bellinghausen, Alex Smith, Kyle (Lizz) Smith, Haley (Luke) Logan, Ben Young, Casey Young; great nieces and nephews, Lincoln, Griffin, Gabriel, and Henlie; and grandchildren Parker, Asher, and Tanner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Young, and father-in-law, Mick Beauchamp.
We’d like to thank all of those who reached out to Terry as I know he personally appreciated each and every one of you.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

About Terry...
I always remember his smile (a "little" -ok a lot mischievous) but amazing all the same.
Terry always made me feel welcome even past my divorce -we lived close & raised our families together *Claire & Maddie were and still are FB’s
He lent me his truck a few times and again always greeted me with that smile.
He even smiled when I threw Brenna in the pool (allegedly). Until she looked back at him.
Brenna…not so much...(sorry again Brenna):)
Don’t get me started on the Halloween parties...
I am very sorry for his passing but glad he is no longer in pain.
Terry (was & is) the $hit! Rest well my friend

I worked with Terry at colorfx in Urbandale. He was a great man and extremely funny. He showed me a lot and even when he was busy, if I needed his help he would jump right in. You have my deepest and most sincere condolences, he will be missed.
