Sydney Elaine Williams, age 68, passed away at her home on Friday, February 23, 2024. She was born the daughter of Fred Akers and Delores Weston-Williams on March 30, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Sydney grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, where she attended Tech High School. Armed with ambition and a thirst for knowledge, Sydney pursued further education, taking college classes in accounting where she later went on to become a professional income tax preparer.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sydney found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a profound passion for music, finding solace and inspiration in its melodies. Sydney also had a love for travel, she enjoyed visiting her daughter and son-in-law, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

A celebration of Sydney’s life will be held on March 2nd at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines at 2:30 p.m.

Though Sydney may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will forever guide us, a beacon of light in the darkness, reminding us to cherish each moment and hold fast to love.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter Nakai Lateasch Koyenhan and Son in Law Victor Segun Koyenhan. As well as her brother’s Stephen and Dicky, Sister’s Sandra and Vicki and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sydney was preceded in death by her beloved mother Delores, her father Fred, her sister’s Pam and Toni, and her brother’s Kevin and Michael. Though she leaves behind a profound void in the lives of those who knew her, Sydney’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and boundless love.
