Susan Vivone
October 19, 1948 — November 04, 2024
Susan “Sue” Vivone passed away November 4, 2024, at EveryStep Kavanagh House at the age of 76.
Sue was born October 19, 1948, to Hubert “Dean” and Lucy (Weeda) Garland in Des Moines. She graduated from Lincoln High School. Sue loved traveling to Florida and Arizona to visit family. Some of her best memories were taking their 1957 Thunderbird around to different car shows. Sue cherished spending time with her family. She loved watching sports, and supporting her daughters and grandchildren through their many activities. You could always catch Sue on the bleachers cheering on the many softball teams that her husband coached over the years. The grandchildren knew grandma was always up for a shopping trip.
Sue is survived by her husband, Pete Vivone; daughters, Angela Vivone, Victoria Vivone and Maria Hinders; grandchildren, Zach, Nick, Hali, Noah, Lorelei, Carmen, Claire, Henry and Ellen; great-grandchildren, Luca and Leo; siblings, Steve (Sandy) Garland, Dennis (Paula) Garland, Debra (Eric) Jensen and Jerry (Debbie) Garland; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana and her parents, Dean and Lucy Garland.
The visitation will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 12th at 12:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street. Words can not express the light that Sue brought to everyone around her. Her humor and wit were unparalleled. She will deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of having her in their life. We hope she is resting in eternal peace and watching over her family everyday.
