Silas Rome Scharnberg, passed away on May 18, 2024 at Blank Children’s Hospital.

Silas was born on May 16, 2024 to JaLameshia Caldwell Shook & Logan Scharnberg in Des Moines, Iowa.

Silas is survived by his maternal grandparents, Shane and Ylonda, aunt and uncles, Isaia, Robert, Shantelia and Cass, and great-grandmother, Sheila Mickens; paternal grandparents, Kristine Scharnberg and Jerry Scharnberg and other extended loving family and friends.

Waiting to welcome him home were his mother, JaLameshia; maternal great-grandfather, Robert Mickens and uncle, Robin Mickens; and paternal great-grandmothers, Carolyn Bush and Marlene Heiliger, aunt, Cama Renae Collier, and great-uncle, James Scharnberg.

A private service will be held for family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Silas.

Logan, I am so glad you were able to meet your son and spend a few precious days with him before he went to be with his Mommy. She will rock him and keep him well so one day you can hold him again. His life was to short but he knew he was loved. Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Tracy were already showing him off and I know Grandpa Jerry will cherish those cuddles as well. Lots of support and prayers are being said for your family.
