Thank you for your friendship and example, Steve! In a world concerned primarily with the interests of "me and mine," you found a different path: a gentle life of quiet service. Love is the only permanent legacy of human life, and your life overflowed with a love for those who might otherwise be forgotten: not only vulnerable people, but all creatures great and small.

So many fond memories of times gone by. Remember riding ""Patches" the shetland pony, spending time at the house on Bel Aire Street in Ankeny during the summer (and getting "tackled" by Gretchen, the family's St Bernard) as well as going camping with the Saveraid family to lake Aquabe (sp?) one summer back in the 70s.
Rest in peace Steve. Sending hugs and condolences to Janice, Scott, Suzanne and the rest of the family.
