Sherry Davis

Sherry K. Davis, 63, passed away peacefully with her husband and mother by her side, on March 12, 2024. She was born on June 13, 1960 to Karolyn Fitzgibbon.

Sherry loved crafting and going thrift shopping. She had the best sense of humor, loved making other people happy and was always laughing. Sherry grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from Hoover High School. Sherry wore many hats while working at Hy-Vee for over 40 years. She retired in November of 2022. Sherry enjoyed entering her projects in the Iowa State Fair. Her favorite, being the miniature bait shop, which took Best of Show, that her and Steve enjoyed creating together.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 23 years, Steve; siblings, Kimberly (Doug) Duede and Chrissy Kuenkel; step siblings, Kirk Fitzgibbon and Shannon Pickering; mom Karolyn Fitzgibbon; mother-in-law, Veronica Foltz, along with many nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her step father John Fitzgibbon; siblings, Kelly Davis and Randy Ford; fathers-in-law, Allen Davis and Gene Foltz; sister-in-law, Jill Davis and grandmother-in-law, Velma Davis.

Family will greet friends on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 a.m. Both will take place at Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny, 520 NW 36th Street, Ankeny, Iowa.
