Sharron King

Sharron King, 88, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at her home on January 18, 2025.

Sharron was born October 15, 1936 in Des Moines. She began working at the age of 16 at Stern Finance and eventually retired in 1998 from Karl Chevrolet where she had been a title clerk for many years. Sharron continued working while raising her five children and always found a way to put their needs first. She was also very supportive of her grandchildren’s interests and attended all of their activities as well. Sharron was kind, caring, sweet and generous to a fault. She would help anyone if she could.

Sharron is survived by her children, Carla King, Jeffrey King, Mike King, Brian (Donna) King and Steve King; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Burger and Iva Lincoln; brothers, Stanley and Forrest Harlan; daughter-in-law, Karen King; and her husband of 67 years, Carl King.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
