Scott MacDonald, 68, passed away on June 23, 2025, in Ankeny. He was born on August 6, 1956, in Des Moines to Lawrence and Vivian (Keller) MacDonald.
Scott worked throughout his life in the Automotive Parts industry, at his family’s business – Hawkeye Auto Supply and then more recently at Carquest Auto Parts in Ankeny. He loved “browsing” and “shopping” at Karl’s Chevrolet – his family never knew what new treasures he would drive home. Scott enjoyed showing off his prized Chevelle at Goodguys Car Show which was purchased from the “original” Karl’s Chevrolet. He was an avid Iowa State Cyclones and NASCAR fan.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jane; daughter, Tracy (Tom) Weatherman; son, Brian (Audrey) Pauley; grandchildren, Sean (Madison) Weatherman and Margaret Weatherman; great grandson, Felix Scott Weatherman and his favorite four-legged furry friend, Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Vivian MacDonald and his sister, Sheryl Berte.
Family will greet guests on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 12:00 -2:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Scott will be laid to rest at Masonic Cemetery, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue or the Parkinson’s Foundation in loving memory of Scott.

Jane we were so sadden to hear of Scott's passing and always "wave hi Scottie" as we pass the Carquest car parts store on Delaware. Pls know we are thinking of you & the kids during this loss of a husband, dad, grandpa and friend to many.
