I have known Richard at MSL Fremont home since he first arrived years ago . Although a man of few words ,he sometimes would talk about his motorcycle days and living in California .
He was always polite and thanked us for everything . He was a gentle soul and I shall always remember him ! Rest in peace sweet Richard .

The loss of Richard is deeply felt at Fremont! Richard was a gentleman who enjoyed parties and playing games around the house with his housemates. No matter what you did for Richard it was always followed with a thank you and a smile.

Richard was such a sweet man with a soft voice and even softer disposition. I met him a few years ago when I started working at Fremont. We shared the same love of horror movies and would often chat about our favorites. We would share recommendations with each other from time to time. He was a man of few words so I did most of the chatting, but he was ok with that and always made an effort. He enjoyed going to the movie theatre with his peers and staff. He would always vote on the action packed movies but often was outvoted by his peers and he never made a fuss. He lived a selfless life and the simple things always made him the happiest. As simple as having some fun at a Halloween or Hawaiian Party at his house. Richard always participated and always dressed up for the occasion, played the games, and loved the food!
My fondest memory of Richard was when I would take him out on the town for Burger King and shopping. He would get in an electric scooter at the grocery store and drive that thing like he was a Nascar Superstar! Once in awhile he would bump into a floating shelf or display and knock over the contents. It wouldn't slow him down, he would just look over his shoulder quickly as I picked up the items. I would then run to catch up with him and we would giggle. I loved that he was able to learn and maintain that kind of independence while shopping. I would pick up those fallen items 100 times over if I could.
He was cared for deeply by his Fremont Family. His friends and staff mourn his loss and our home just doesn't feel the same. On behalf of our Fremont Family we send condolences to his Family and Friends.
“Those who live in our memories are never truly gone.”
Rest in peace, Richard.

I met Richard when I started working at Fremont. I knew part of his family so we had that connection. We talked about his family that I had contact with and he enjoyed hearing their successes in life. Richard was so kind to everyone. He never complained and always said thank you. He enjoyed shopping day and would get spicy nuts and a large fountain drink. He was my favorite and I would tell him that at times and he would smile. I am blessed to know his kind soul. Rest in peace my friend.

It has been my privilege to have been Richards care giver at MSL group home. I have know him many years. He was truly the most kindest person I have known, never complained about anything.. some things Richard really liked were scary movies. I’d go to his room and he would be watching a scary movie and I would tease him he was going to have bad dreams and he would just laugh and say nah… he also liked to order from Jimmi John’s every Tuesday .. it was his special day. What a beautiful Person Richard was and he is going to be missed terribly by all his staff at Fremont.

Here at Fremont we knew Richard so well. He was a great guy and was easy to get to smile. He was always kind to others and that is what made him so well thought of here. Richard enjoyed playing games and would request dominoes when asked what he wanted to play. He enjoyed parties here and even would dress up at Halloween. He loved his Tuesday Jimmy John's so we will have one next week in his honor. He will be very missed here by everyone. Rest in peace dear Richard. From all your friends here at Fremont Street.
