As a young police officer back in 1974, Ray proved to be an excellent role model. He took great pride in his profession and represented the profession of police officer to the highest degree.
Through his entire career, in every facet he worked, he gave more than 100%.
His family can be proud of the way he served his country and our community.
He was a terrific guy to know and to have as a friend.

As Uncle Ray's other niece I would like to say on behalf of myself, his great niece Amanda, her husband Addam and his great great nieces and nephew Kylie, Sophie and Kash, that we are all saddened to hear about our Uncles passing. We wish him well on his journey and, I personally, envy him a bit for getting to now spend time with grandpa, grandma and my dad again visiting, sharing and laughing together. I know that one day we will all be together again and I look forward to the time we will all spend sharing around the table, discussing serious topics as well as funny ones and laughing together like we all did while growing up with my cousins, Uncle Ray's daughters, Jennifer and Holly but then we will also get to be with his grandson Sean and my grandkiddos too like a big happy family together...what times those will be...my idea of heaven along with all of our pets running around playing and sitting near by for us all to enjoy. Safe travels Uncle Ray, may you rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Rexroat. I did not personally know the LT but would like to express my thankfulness for his bravery and service to the Des Moines community and for his service to our country. You are a hero indeed and I am confident you heard the words well done from our Savior when you met Him in Heaven.
