Ronald Keith Hotchkiss, 87, passed away September 19, 2023 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk.

Ronald was born August 17, 1936, in Des Moines to Fred and Jessie (Lees) Hotchkiss. He graduated from East High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Ronald was a machinist for Delevan for 25 years and later retired from Iowa Methodist Medical Center where he worked in Engineering for 20 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and he had been a Mason. Ronald enjoyed fishing and playing Dominos, cards and cribbage. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Ronald is survived by his children, Carla (Ken) Horner, Chuck (Linda) Hotchkiss and Tony Hotchkiss; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Bridgett) Horner, Jason (Beth) Horner, James Horner, Jeremy (Emily) Brown, Jennie (Edward) Gallant, Jennifer (Sang) Nguyen, Ryan (Becky) Hotchkiss, Amber (Derek) Gordon and Aric (Lauren) Hotchkiss; great-grandchildren, Caitilin and Cailey Horner, Tyler Powell and Nicole Powell, Andrew and Meredith Horner, James and Abbigayle Horner, Jacob Comes, Levi, Caleb and Madison Gallant, Ely Hotchkiss, Emily, Ethen and Ein Nguyen, Tiffany Fitzgerald, Parker and Jocelynn Hotchkiss, and Payten and Ryker Gordon; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; daughters, Carol Elaine and Kathy Marie; and his daughter-in-law, Laurie Hotchkiss.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Ronald will be laid to rest with military honors at Avon Cemetery.
