Ronald "Ron" Lee Griffin

Ronald “Ron” Lee Griffin, 80, passed away at his home on February 15, 2025.

Ron was born August 6, 1944 in Des Moines to Clovis and Arvilla (Connett) Griffin. He graduated from North High School. Ron retired from Iowa Methodist Medical Center in 2001 after 30 years of service where worked in Environmental Services and Central Dispatch. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and WWE fan. Ron loved listening to his 50’s music and game shows. His world revolved around his grandchildren and he enjoyed every minute spent with them.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Melissa “Missy” Laurie; sons, Brent (Lori) Griffin and Theodore Henning; siblings, Bob Griffin, Jay Griffin, Charles Griffin and Mary Caldwell; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer and Jayme (Edwin) Laurie and Amanda Brown; 15 great-grandchildren; his beloved cat, Bert; and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karole Griffin; son, Ronald Jr.; and his sisters, Betty Porter and Sharon Lancaster.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
