Robert “Bob” Leland Morris, 87, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2024 in Ankeny. He was born in Gladstone Township, Illinois on May 4, 1937 to Ralph (Leland) and Freda (Arline) Morris.

Bob graduated from the Garden Grove School System in 1956 with his high school sweetheart and future wife, Dona J (of 50 years), as the class king and queen where he had lettered in basketball and football. Bob began working at Pepsi Cola in Des Moines, Iowa as a route man following graduation from high school. He worked his way up the corporate ladder and retired as the Reginal Human Resource Manager for Pepsi Americas after working for Pepsi for 42 years. Throughout the years he enjoyed traveling to Spain, Scotland, Ireland, Alaska and Hawaii, as well as several U.S. States. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including camping, boating, fishing, hunting and outdoor musical jamborees. Bob has also enjoyed sports all his life, especially football, basketball, and baseball games, NASCAR races, and many other new adventures.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sharren; daughters, Shelly Morris-Greer (Ray) and Sherry Leonard; grandsons, Trace, Chandler, Devin, and Jason and his great granddaughter, Chimaira. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters; Bill (Bette) Morris, Rosalie (Dale) Hill, Chuck Morris, Becky (Lorren) Helton, Norma Jean Willis and Barb (Vic) Bellon and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Arline; brother Cecil; the mother of his children, Dona J., and wife, Lucile (Elaine).

Family will greet guests on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at First Family Church of Ankeny, 317 SE Magazine Road, Ankeny, IA 50021. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines.
