Ronald Dean Smith

Ronald Dean Smith, 79, passed away November 25th. He was born March 12, 1945 to Verle John Smith and Ruby Laverne Smith in Carroll, Iowa.
Ron retired from Titan Tire in 2000 and built several houses and owned and drove dump trucks for many years after. He loved to work and he loved his dogs Chuck and Scooter, and he loved his family.
Survived by wife Christina, son; Joe (Janine) Smith, sister and brother-in-law; Gloria and LeRoy Fick, step children; Melissa (Troy) Schooley and Randy Lee, 9 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers William Smith and Robert Smith, and his beloved son Brian.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with refreshments and visitation to follow. Hamiltons near Highland Memory Gardens. 121 NW 60th Ave. Des Moines, Iowa 50313.

Tina and family, Karen and I are so sad too hear about our good friend Ron passing. I grew up with him, going to North High, working at Armstrong (Titan) tire with him. What a great time we had going to Lake Powell for a week on the house boat with other class mates. He worked hard, played hard, and we always had each others back! Such great memories with Ron and Tina. R.I.P. my good friend.
