Raedene “Rae” Dillinger, 66, passed away February 5, 2025 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

The joy of her life was taking her children and grandchildren on cruises. She wanted to make sure that her kids and grandkids got to travel the world with her. In all, there were 45 cruises that she experienced in her life. Her and Dick had also traveled to over 40 countries. Raedene loved to see the world.

Raedene would also pack up her husband, kids or grandkids and take them camping. Whether it been on the cheapest air mattress the stores sold or in her luxury little camper.

Dick and Raedene just celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary on Feb 1st 2025. They were wedded on February 1st 1975. Shortly after they were married they had 4 children - Jeff, Terry, Jerry and Jessica by 1979.

Raedene worked in the nursing field as a CNA, and a CMA from her younger years to 1999 and ended her career at Lakeside Casino in 2016. After that, she was a fulltime housewife to Dick.

She always enjoyed baking cookies and pies for the family. She was also known for her famous goulash by her grandchildren.

Raedene is survived by husband, Dick Dillinger; son, Jeffrey Dillinger (Christina); daughter, Jess Knudsen (Brad); brothers, Ray Timmerman (Julie) and Frank Meyers (Linda); sister, Linda Butler; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Johneta Horner; father, Raymond Timmerman; sons, Terry Lee Dillinger and Jerry Ray Dillinger; grandsons, Travis Hunter Jackson and Dallas Jeffrey Jackson; granddaughter, Audrey Marie Dillinger; and her best friend, April LeFebvre.

The family will greet friends Friday, February 14, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Raedene will be laid to rest at Peru Cemetery in Peru, Iowa.
