Peter Sullivan
December 16, 1959 — July 30, 2024
On the morning of July 30 2024, Peter Gerard Sullivan of Des Moines Iowa passed away peacefully at home due to heart failure after many years of ill health – he was 64 years old.
He retired from Wells Fargo legal department in 2013. Peter had worked in the financial industry for 27 years. He was privileged to move with the company to different states as they got acquired by larger companies. Peter had worked for Bell Atlantic, Greentree Conseco, and Wells Fargo. He enjoyed the adventures of working and living in New Jersey, Florida, Minnesota, and lastly Des Moines, Iowa.
Peter was one of six kids and kept his parents very busy in his younger years. He loved playing basketball and being on the swim team in high school. He played on the JV basketball team and managed the Varsity basketball team.
After his retirement, he would often take his Honda Prelude out for a long ride and listen to his loud rock music in his car.
He always made efforts to join family the reunion in Maine, Rake weekends, and yearly Christmas celebrations in New Jersey.
Peter cherished close family bonds and family was very important to him. He was a loving husband, devoted dad and, granddad – the grandkids called him “pop pop”.
His colleagues and friends found him generous, sincere, fun, compassionate and loyal. Animals of all kinds gravitated towards him.
Peter Gerard Sullivan is survived by his loving partner Shirley Sullivan; step daughter Victoria Maikranz; granddaughters, Giovanna Miller, Isabella Porter, and Valentina Porter; older brothers, Joe and Valerie Sullivan; John and Nancy Sullivan; his sisters, Mary Ellen and Tom Sullivan; Winifred and Bob Clapp; Kerry and Donald Morgan.
Goodbye may seem forever. Farewell is like the end, but in our hearts is the memory and there you will always be.

So enjoyed working with Pete during his days at Wells Fargo. Thoughts and prayers to the Sullivan family, especially to Shirley...his beloved wife whom I also had the pleasure of working with over the years. RIP Pete. Thanks for the memories.
