Nahla Rochelle "Belle" Morrison

Nahla was someone you couldn’t help but to smile at. Someone you couldn’t help but to love. She was funny. She was crazy. She was random. She was silly. She was rude. She was everything. She filled everyone’s life with love and laughter. She loved utensils and her tablet. As long as she had her tablet and a broken spoon or fork, she was good. She loved laughing. She loved her mother, her sister, and her grandma. They were her people. She loved babies. She loved animals, especially monkeys. Nahla loved a lot of things. She was full of love.

Nahla’s presence radiated joy and happiness and anxiousness because you never knew what her next step was. She ate dog food and jumped into toilets. She would draw on you if you were sleeping. Nahla was something special.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beautiful, loving mother: Dana Morrison; her sister-mom Ny’Asiah Gully; her grandparents, Pamela Miles, Webster Miles, Tracy Jewitt, Carl Hill, & Renee Mason; her loving Tt mommy Alicia Jones; Uncle Lamar Johnson; her cousin-siblings, Lamairra Johnson, Tamairra Johnson, Lamar Johnson, Amairra Johnson, Terry Wyant; and a host of other uncles, aunties, godmoms, and cousins.

Nahla will be greeted in heaven by her grandparents Derek Morrison, Myrtle Morrison, and Aunt Felicia.

Visitation will be held on Nahla’s birthday, March 11, 2026 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Please check back for funeral service details.
