Mitchell Ohland
May 27, 1982 — April 07, 2024
Mitchell “Ryan” Ohland, was born in Des Moines on May 27th, 1982 to Mary Patricia Ohland and Randy Eamer.
He grew up in and around Des Moines, attended S.E. Polk High School, and graduated to pursue a career as an electrician. Ryan was always willing to help anyone whose path he crossed; even strangers would comment on how helpful he was. During his all too short life, he made many friends who he cherished dearly. Not only did he cherish his friendships, but beyond all he treasured his children. Camryn and Gage were the center of his world, and he would stop at nothing to make sure they were happy and safe. He particularly enjoyed working with his son Gage at the Des Lux Hotel where Ryan was Head of Maintenance. He met the love of his life, Maria Dhabolt, in 2021 and they were inseparable until his passing. Ryan passed away on April 7th, 2024.
Ryan is survived by the people he was most proud of, his two beautiful children, Camryn and Gage Ohland; his mother Mary Ohland; Jamie Horner the man that Ryan looked up to as a mentor and a father figure throughout his life. Ryan's life partner Maria Dhabolt; stepchildren Kaylee (and step-grandson Psalm), Emma, Chloe, Maci & Jameson; sister Nicole (Justin) Williams; nephews, Jet, Aero, and Cruz, and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lloyd and Diana Ohland, and George and Lois Eamer.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ryan on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, IA 50309
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to his children, Camryn and Gage at Mary's Venmo in loving memory of Ryan.

Mary, Camryn and Gage, and all who will miss Ryan,
I’m so sorry that Ryan has left Earth so young. I will forever see him in Camryn and Gage. He always felt part of the family to me. He leaves two beautiful, loving, kind children as his legacy. There is nothing more important than that. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there but you are in my prayers daily and I’m sending big hugs. Love, Tante Lolo

Prayers and condolences go out to Ryan’s family, especially his mother Mary and Ryan’s children. My son Jordan and Ryan became the best of friends when they met in 7th grade at SE Polk. Ryan will live forever in our hearts and the memories we all have of him.
