Mildred Kramer

Mildred A. Kramer of Ankeny passed into eternity on Wednesday December 25, 2024 at Edencrest of Siena Hills, at the age of 104. She was born on October 3, 1920 to Ralph and Julia White of Polk City, IA.

Mildred worked at Polk City Grain Company and Cristchett piano. She was a long-time employee of Sam’s Downtown Tap. Far more than her work, Mildred will be remembered as the most giving person. She had often claimed that being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother was her favorite full-time job. She married Richard Kramer on June 29, 1971.

Mildred was an active member in the Polk City Methodist Church. Mildred enjoyed traveling to Colorado and shopping trips. She was an avid roller-skater, yodeler, and basketball player in her youth. Mildred rocked the guitar in her children’s younger years.

Mildred is survived by her children, Scott (Stefanie) Dennis and Colleen Armstrong; step-children, Dana (Sandy) Kramer and Deb Sposeto; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren that will carry her memory with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Howard Dennis; son, Howard Dennis Jr.; second husband, Richard Kramer; son-in-law Bill Armstrong; siblings, William White, Jim White, Lloyd White, Helen Lee, and Doris Drummond.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Monday December 30, 2024 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines with interment to follow at Polk City Cemetery.
