Michael Sillanpaa

Michael Wesley Sillanpaa, 72, passed away on February 22, 2024. He was born on March 24, 1951 to Matthew and Carol (Brisson) Sillanpaa.

Mike was an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He also enjoyed gambling and fishing. Mike was a wonderful caregiver to his mother, and was always there to take care of her and provide anything that she needed.

Mike is survived by his sons, Michael Sillanpaa, Jr. and Jamey (Shelli) Sillanpaa; grandchildren, Christian (Faith) Sillanpaa and Payton Sillanpaa; great grandchildren, Everleigh and Wrenleigh Sillanpaa; siblings, Terry Sillanpaa and Lori Gilbert and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Carol Sillanpaa; siblings, Ronald Sillanpaa and Dale Sillanpaa and niece Jessica.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. at Big Dog Billiards, 4510 NE 14th Street, Des Moines, with burial of his urn to take place at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Until we meet again my friend. R.I.P. Mike. you were always a fun person to be around back in the day. I remember all the good times all of us had going to the pits and hanging out at your mom and dads. that was the good old days. not many of us left now. sure going to miss your smile.
