Margaret Price

Margaret Price, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 30, 2024. She was a longtime resident of Altoona, Iowa.

She was born October 2, 1933 in Blairsburg, Iowa to Harold and Pearl Moellering. Margaret grew up in the Iowa City area and graduated from University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. She met her husband Bruce there after his time in the Air Force, and they raised their family in Eldora and Altoona. Margaret worked in various retail jobs, and retired after several years in the Southeast Polk School System. She loved gardening, piano, horses and horseracing. She loved her many pets over the years and rescued countless cats and dogs that needed a good home. Margaret was very artistic and creative, very skilled at sewing and knitting, and enjoyed crafting of any kind. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who always put her family first, and her strength will always be an inspiration to those who loved her.

Margaret is survived by her children, Pam (Scott) Barlow, Wendy Price, Stuart Price, Steve Price; sisters, Lois (Carl) King, Louise Eichler, Lucy (Don) Kutyna; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Price; parents, Harold and Pearl Moellering; and sister, Edith (Howard) Malpas.

Family will have a memorial service at a later date.
