Margaret Elaine Myres

Margaret Elaine Myres was born March 18, 1932 in Lovilia, Iowa to Mike and Mildred Nedderman Onder and died on February 6, 2025 at the age of 92. Her family moved to Des Moines when she was 12 years old and she finished her schooling at Harding Jr. High and East High, class of June 1950.

In 1949 she met Richard (Dick) Myres on a blind date and they were Married September 2, 1950 in Des Moines. They started married life in Albia where she became Office Manager of the Albia Gamble Store.

In 1966 Dick's job with Chamberlain Mfg. Co. required his relocation to the north west suburbs of Chicago. Margaret went to work at CMC at that time. They retired from CMC in 1990 and moved to Springfield, Mo. In 2002 they moved back to Des Moines to be closer to family. It was here they became members of Wakonda Christian Church. They are also lifetime members of the Albia chapter of Eastern Star as well as other things

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Dolores Rockey, brothers Don, Roger & Robert Onder and sister-in-law Val Myrese. She is survived by her husband, brothers Edward and Richard Onder, 2 God Sons, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Wakonda Christian Church in her memory.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2025, with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., at Wakonda Christian Church, 3938 Fleur Dr., Des Moines. She has been cremated and burial will be at a later date in Oakview Cemetery in Albia, Iowa.
