Lynda Stone
December 09, 1961 — January 27, 2025
Lynda Lea Stone, 63, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on December 9, 1961, she lived a life filled with laughter, love, and kindness.
A proud Urbandale High School graduate and Broadlawns employee, Lynda never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She met her husband, Gary, while bartending at her parents’ bar, and they married on June 2, 1984. Together, they raised three children—Audrey, Allyson, and Luke—who were the light of her life.
Lynda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her beloved grandson, Michael. She was also a proud dog mom to her three-legged pup, Whiskey. A die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, music lover and a Parrothead, she brought warmth and laughter to every moment.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary; children, Audrey, Allyson (Gerry), and Luke (Jessi); grandson, Michael; siblings, Billye Jo (Leo) Ryan, Edwin (Julie) Erickson, and Scott Erickson; and many extended family members, friends, and her beloved dog, Whiskey.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Joan Erickson.
Family will greet friends Friday, January 31, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Celebration of Life will be held the following day Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
In her honor, share laughter, kindness, and always “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

I met Linda at Broadlawns medical center. I was a new employee from MN….I didn’t know anyone! I was invited to sit next billye jo and Linda…by the end of the lunch Linda had me laughing and feeling like one of the gang. I think they liked me because my husband was a packer fan:). Linda I will always think of you fondly! Billye and family I’m so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you during this hard time.

We are so sorry for your loss. She was such a special person. Although she was more my sister's age, I remember being over at your house often, sometimes babysitting. I was so happy that we had the chance to see Lynda last July. It's a hard thing to lose a sister especially when you guys were so close. Sending lots of love and prayers that the family gets through this hard time.
