Linda Kay Sparks

Linda Kay Sparks, born in Beacon, Iowa on June 24th 1949 to parents Roma Padgett (Deaver) and Donald Padgett. She married Russell Sparks Sr., on June 17th 1965, they had three children Michelle (Neer), Russell Sparks Jr., (Chris), and Richard Sparks (Nicole).

Linda retired from Rees Associates. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, spending time with her grandchildren, and going out to dinner with her brothers. Her favorite pastime was taking care of her dogs and cats. Linda especially enjoyed thrift shopping with her brother.

She had 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and brothers Donald Padgett Jr., and William (Diann) Padgett.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband Russell Sparks Sr., her parents, son-in-law James Neer, Sr., sister-in-law Martha Padgett, and her dog Gizmo.

Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Pine Hill Cemetery.
