Lora Marie Buske

Lora Marie Buske, born February 22, 1971, passed away November 1, 2023 at Every Step Hospice Kavanaugh House in Des Moines at the young age of 52.

Lora worked as a senior life sales team member at EMC National Life, proudly serving to improve lives for nearly 25 years. Passionate to help others, Lora had tremendous energy and positivity that were appreciated by all. She had a vibrant personality and built genuine relationships based on trust, respect and unconditional support.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lora was a vivacious soul with a zest for life. She was an ardent sports fan who cherished the spirit of friendly competition. Early on she played soccer and as an adult she stayed active through coed softball, biking, bowling and golf. She loved watching football, especially her Cowboys, and really enjoyed a raucous game of farkle with family or friends. Her smile, laughter, and hugs will be sorely missed.

Lora is survived by her loving parents, Patricia and Daniel Putney; father, Paul Burnes; step-father, Dennis (Mary Ann) Buske; brothers Christopher (Lynn) Buske and Ryan Burnes; sister Taylor Putney; nieces, Alice and Ilana; nephews Sebastian, Abel and Ryker; as well as extended family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home, along with a luncheon immediately thereafter onsite.
