Lisa Koeneman
Grimes, Iowa
Lisa Lee Easterlie, 57, passed away on February 24, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 7, 1967, the daughter of Ronald and Judith Rooney.
She was free spirited with a captivating personality and a deep love for animals. After beating cancer twice, once in her thirties and once in her forties, she was admired by family and friends for her resilience. Born with an abundance of natural talents, Lisa acquired many hobbies throughout the years, her favorites being crocheting blankets, reading and all things plants. Known to her children for her delicious cooking, she leaves behind a wealth of recipes they will continue to create and enjoy in her memory.
Lisa held numerous jobs over the years in various fields of employment, her eldest son recalling a fond childhood memory of eating frosting out of a tub as she earned wages creating wedding cakes, but her heart always led her back to secretarial positions in the construction industry.
Known to her grandchildren as “Nana Lisa,” she was a doting grandmother who, for one Christmas, sent electronic devices to each of her Massachusetts “grandbabies” which gave them the ability to send her voice messages anytime they wanted. She was known to them for her extensive movie collection and making sure they had the latest Disney movie. Through FaceTime calls, pen pal notes and sending packages throughout the years, she always made her grandchildren feel loved. She will be missed dearly.
Lisa is survived by her children, Timothy Duquette and wife Doris of Massachusetts, Stephanie Davis, Robert Davis of Massachusetts, and Nickolas Manning of Iowa; 7 grandchildren; siblings Doug Rooney (Cindy), Jim Rooney, Steve Rooney (Shari), Scott Rooney (Desi) and Ryan Easterlie (Ellen).
Family will greet guests from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Lincoln Cemetery in Granger.

I am so saddened to hear this. Lisa was the best tenant and friend and she helped a lot when my mom moved in next to her. She was truly so down to earth and a real sweetheart. She will greatly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family in this difficult time. I am very sorry.

I love you, Lisa, and I was so excited about seeing you once I moved back from California in two weeks, as we talked about meeting up soon after I returned. I am so heartbroken beyond words that you will not be there, now, and am beyond so sad I will be missing your service. I will covet all of the memories stemming back to Junior High. I love you, and I know your children are devastated. You left a lasting impression on me and have memories that will make me smile for the remainder of my days. Hugs and love to Tim, Stephanie, Bobby and Nick, and all your grandkids. They were all your pride and joy. ❤️😔

Nick and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Lisa was a wonderful person and loved her family dearly. I have many memories back in the day with her. She is the one who took me to the hospital and stayed with me when I was in labor with Travis until Virgil was able to make it. I'll never forget that. If you need anything, let Travis or I know. Lots of love to all of you!!
