Linda Houlton

Linda Houlton, 75, passed away at her home on August 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 16th, 1948, Linda was the youngest of 6 siblings. Having lost her mother at the age of 5, Linda was raised mainly by her siblings, which created a strong bond between them.

Linda had two daughters who loved her dearly. She enjoyed spending most of her time with them going to movies, getting pedicures and planting flowers. Linda took pride in being a self-accomplished person, she worked hard to provide for her family. Linda was a caring grandmother and enjoyed passing down traditions and making memories to last a lifetime.

Linda had a smile that could brighten a person’s soul. Her piercing blue eyes sparkled when she was able to travel to see her sisters. Although Linda moved out of Kansas, her soul never left. So now in death she is being brought home to rest in peace with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mildred Houlton (Howie) and George Houlton. Siblings Thelma Knopp, Phyllis Fager, Kenneth Houlton, Janice Kleinsorge, and Nancy Womochil.

She is survived by her daughters Tina Boatwright (Wen) and Tammy Hicks. Grandchildren Quintin Russomano, TamiLee Duff, Troy Layton, and Duane Hicks. Great grand children Chase Parascando, Bia Duff, Trystin Duff and Xander Duff. Great Great grandchildren Silvio Russomano and Colt Parascando.

Please join the family in sending Linda back home in style with a Celebration of Life Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Ewing Park Ashley Oakland Open Shelter, 5300 Indianola Avenue in Des Moines. She will be laid to rest with her family in Abilene, Kansas.
