Lora Ann Hall
Lora Ann “Sonner” Hall, 62 passed away on November 23rd, 2023 at home after gathering with her family and friends celebrating Thanksgiving.
Lora was born on December 15th, 1960, to Burton Sonner and Betty Sonner Kooker in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was a devoted partner, mother and grandmother. Lora loved all without judgement and her heart welcomed anyone in need of anything she could possibly give. She was outspoken and a could be a ball of fire, to say the least! She had a heart of gold and was as genuine as they come. She definitely was a free spirit and lived her life on her own terms. You never had to question what was on her mind or what she was thinking because she would let you know!
Lora was married to Roger Hall for 19 years. They had two children: Russ Hall and Lacy Dean. During that time, she did in home daycare and had many endeavors in the Racing industry. They later divorced.
Lora had a love for racing, specifically sprint car racing. She spent many years at different race tracks watching her dad and friends race sprints, later on her son. She had lots of memories at Knoxville Raceway.
She loved to hang out with her girlfriends, traveling, going to the casino, shopping and watching NASCAR races. Her most favorite of all was spending time with her family. She loved her grandkids more than life itself. She didn’t miss too many sporting events and definitely not any milestones. We can’t forget her Granddog, Frankie, they loved their quality time watching, Let’s Make a Deal everyday while wrapped up in many heated blankets year-round.
She is survived by her partner of the last 17 years Ernie Brickman; children Russ (Nicole) Hall and Lacy (Terron) Dean; granddaughters Kelsey Hatle, Rilynn Hall; grandsons Earl Harvey, Ryder Hall. Lora also had a special relationship with her bonus kids Sharee (Billy), Ernie II (Abby), Valerie (Jesse); and bonus grandkids Merrick, Beckett, Lyanna, Heather, Murphy, Wyatt and Evelyn. Her sister Betty Jo (Kevin) Husted; brothers Kevin (Chrissy) and Derrick (Kathy) Kooker; and special aunt Cookie. She also left behind many friends and family that will miss her dearly.
Lora is preceded in death by her father Burton Sonner; and her mother Betty Sonner Kooker.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

To the family- I don't know if you remember who I am. I was the little blonde girl Lora use to babysit about 30 years ago with my little brother. I was into racing like Roger and Russ.
