Larry William Larson

Larry Larson, 86, passed away on May 20, 2024 in Urbandale. He was born on May 19, 1938 to William and Mildred (Small) Larson.

Larry retired from Tools Incorporated, Waukesha, WI and had also been Chief Tool Engineer with Metaltech Industries and Supervisor of Tool Engineering with Western International
in Des Moines. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny. Larry’s values were simple; faith, family, friends and fun.He enjoyed square dancing, he was a member of the Fairs and Squares, Square Dance Club and Neveda Whirlers. Larry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. He was a square dance caller for many years.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Georgia; sons, Tom, Gary (Lisa) and David (Laurie Holtz); sister, Sue Philpott; grandchildren, Tyler (Amy) Larson, Eric Larson and Tara (Bernie) Christen and great grandchildren, Peyton, Brecklyn and Hayden.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Rodney Larson and brother-in-law, Mike Vergos.

Family will greet guests on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 SW Des Moines St., Ankeny, Iowa. Following visitation there will be a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at the church. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa.
