Larry Ardell Canady, 74, passed away on February 12, 2025 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. He was born on November 21, 1950 in Phoenix, Arizona to Louis and Paula (Strub) Canady.

Larry retired from the United States Postal Service in 2009. He was a member of the United States Navy. Larry had a passion for sports, especially baseball. He coached for many years in the Saydel District, even after his son was out of school. Larry was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Diane; son Cory (Mary) Canady; siblings, Jim Canady, Linda (Don) Burke, Carlene Carr and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Family will greet guests on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Larry will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines.
