Karen Fredell, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Taylor House Hospice. She was born the daughter of Owen and Sylvia (Larimer) Beem on March 17, 1939, in Carlisle, Iowa.

Karen was a beautiful, patient, and multi-talented woman. She developed many skills with her sewing hobbies, such as hand quilting, crocheting, and filigree work, which she gifted to all her family members over the years. In her later years, she wore one of her many hats that she decorated with flowers. Her love for her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren was always apparent, she cherished many memories with all of them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children Karen Delieth (John) Holst, Danette (HL) Cooley, Don (Crystal) Laird, Deane Teresa (Alan) McPherson, and Valerie (Lenny) Laird, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brothers Donald Beem and Allen (Pat) Beem, and many nieces & nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Owen Leroy Beem and Gerald Beem, sisters Arlene Fredregill and Audrey Beem, and grandson in infancy Raymon Savell.

Private family gathering will be held this spring to Celebrate Karen’s Life.
