Judith "Judy" Crouse Shuput
September 25, 1959 — January 18, 2024
Judith Crouse Shuput, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 18, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy was born the daughter of Thomas and Beverly Thacker on September 25, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Judy was the fourth born of six kids, and through all the life’s trials, it was evident that the Thacker family bond was unbreakable. Family was very important to her from the beginning. Judy met Robert Crouse in 1977, and they married soon after and from that marriage they had three children, Rich, Heidi, and Abbie. Being a grandma would be the greatest joy of her life.
After life complications and such, Judy and Bobby divorced, but they always remained a family unit. In 2011, Judy married Mark Shuput. He was devoted to her they were happily married until her death. Mark fully embraced his position and embraced having such a mixed up family dynamic. Her passing has left a deep hole in all of our hearts, and she will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Mark Shuput, children Richard Crouse, Heidi (Chisolm) Crouse, and Abbie (Elton) Myers, step-children Linda Shoemaker, Travis (Tara) Shuput, and Rhonda (Justin) Belieu, grandchildren Connor, Braeden, Marley, Jacob, Kaleb, Mason, Gavin, Kaiden, Danny, Elena, Meredith, Ben, Bailey, and Heavenly, brother Thomas (Susie) Thacker, sister Violet (Tim) Jones, brother-in-law Gary Schomer, father of her children Robert Crouse, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Beverly Thacker, granddaughter Emma Crouse, and her siblings Jodie Schomer, Timmy Thacker, and Charlie Thacker.
Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Crouse Café, 115 E Salem Avenue, Indianola, IA 50125.

Judy was a former coworker of mine and most of all a great friend. She was always there to listen when I needed someone to talk to. Judy was never judgemental. She was like a second mom to me. I am so glad that I got the chance to work with her and and be a friend. I am so glad that I got the chance to talk to her one last time. Judy will always hold a very special place in my heart. RIP JUDY
