Jo Ann Struve, 75, passed away on July 11, 2024 in Papillion, NE. She was born on February 23, 1949 to Karl and Aurelia (Wiedel) Hemsath.

Jo Ann walked many paths professionally, including as a teacher, computer programmer, and small business owner. She dedicated a large portion of her adult life to improving the lives of families of children with special needs, first as a volunteer and eventually working for the Heartland AEA. She enjoyed card games and dominoes with friends, traveling to places big and small with her sister, and reading stories to her grandchildren. She was a longstanding member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Jo Ann is survived by her son Ryan (Jessica) Struve; grandchildren, Owen and Waverly Struve; siblings, Deby Johnson and John Hemsath; four nieces and a nephew.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Struve; daughter, Julie Struve; parents, Karl and Aurelia Hemsath; and siblings Wilma, Nancy, and Janet.

A private ceremony will take place.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Special Olympics of Iowa.
