Joseph Kent Weber, 65, passed away at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. He was born the son of Ralph and Helen (Ortner) Weber in Waterloo, Iowa.

Joe was a skilled carpenter who loved staying busy on projects, both at home and throughout his long career with Weitz Construction. He took tremendous pride in his craftsmanship an found real joy in teaching and mentoring those around him. Outside of work, Joe was happiest camping under the stars, gathered around a bonfire, or catching a race, always surrounded by the people he loved. He had a way of making life feel lighter, whether through his quick wit, his sense of humor, or his steady willingness to help anyone who needed it. Joe will be remembered for his generosity, his kindness, and the warmth he brought to every moment and every relationship.

Those left to cherish Joe’s memory include his loving wife Lori; children Thomas Weber, James (Kristy) Lahart, and Carla Lahart; Grandchildren Grant, Jamison, Caden, Kyle, Kennedy, and Lydia; his Mother Helen; his siblings Russell Weber, Maureen Weber, Ken (Renee) Weber, Rich Weber, Margaret Weber, and Frances Weber; Mother-in-Law Joanne Fletcher; Brothers in Law Mike Fletcher, and David (Becky) Fletcher; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Ralph; Grandson Greyson; and Father-in-Law Wayne Fletcher.

Family will greet guests on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
