A lifelong East Sider, John graduated from East High School in 1958 and remained deeply connected to the community throughout his life. He proudly served as president of the East High Booster Club for six years and could always be found attending East High events, cheering on the Scarlett’s. His love for children was evident—he was quick to hand out a dollar or a piece of candy, always bringing smiles to young faces.

A devoted husband, John deeply loved his wife, Clara. In her final years, he lovingly cared for her and often sang to her, a reflection of his gentle and faithful heart. John also loved baking for family gatherings, sharing his creations with those he loved most.
