Jeremy Lee Parker, Sr. passed away on September 12, 2024, at Methodist Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1978, to Alvin Parker and Sherry Graham.
Jeremy grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. He went to Lincoln High School and worked for the Des Moines Register. After high school, Jeremy joined the construction industry. He worked for Jensen Builders for many years. Jeremy learned a lot and became multi-faceted, but concrete was his specialty. Recently, he became a self-employed handyman, he could build and fix almost anything.
Jeremy married the love of his life, Lesa, in 1999. They were happily married for nineteen years. Jeremy was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a kind, strong man who loved his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, football, and spending quality time with his loved ones.
Jeremy is survived by his daughter, Alexis Parker; his son, Triston Parker; his mother, Sherry Graham; his brothers, Jessie, Jamie, Christopher, and Joseph Parker; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jeremy is preceded in death by his wife, Lesa Parker; his son, Jeremy Parker, Jr.; his father, Alvin Parker, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Leona Mae and Carroll Wallace Christensen; and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Ruth Darden.
Family will be greeting friends on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home; 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, Iowa. Burial will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Avon Cemetery; 3995 Hart Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.

So sorry to hear the news about Jeremy. We were childhood friends and had many battles on the baseball field at South Des Moines Little League. Jeremy was a great competitor and it was always fun to be teammates in the All Star tournaments. My family and I will be praying for you.

Jesse, sherry and family. So sorry for your loss. Grew up with him. So sad to see. Unfortunately I cannot attend funeral as I live on the east coast!!! Prayers from out here for you all.
