Jamie Comegys

Jamie Comegys passed on Friday, February 9 at age 42. Jamie was born on November 1, 1981to Andy and Patricia Comegys in Des Moines, IA. Jamie was the youngest of three siblings.

If you knew Jamie, you know that she lived life on her own terms. Never afraid to give her opinion or walk on her own. There is rarely one to live as unencumbered.

Jamie is survived by two children, Jesse Thompson and Ema Thompson as well as brothers Brad Comegys and Alan Comegys. She is preceded in death by both parents Andy and Patricia.

A gathering to honor Jamie will be held Monday February 26, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 at the Four-Mile Community Center 3711 Easton Blvd, Des Moines.

Jamie always worried that her kids wouldn't understand or know how much she loved them. It wasn't her lack of love that kept her from them. It was a disease and sadness that she had from the moment her mother passed away. It was a sadness that lived inside her that she didn't know how or have the tools to fix it. There wasn't a day go by that she didn't think about her children or her parents. She was just never the same. Jamie - I will miss you terribly but know you are in a better place and with your "mama" now.
