Jack Dean Salsbury

Jack Dean Salsbury, 89, passed away on October 5, 2024, at Edencrest at The Legacy in Norwalk.

Jack was born April 11, 1935, in Patterson, Iowa, to Willis and Edna (Stover) Salsbury. He moved to the Norwalk area in 1963. Jack retired in 1994, after working as a pension insurance specialist for many years. Jack was an avid fisherman who believed his luck was due to the fish being afraid of him. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle. Jack was also a member of the Norwalk United Methodist Church.

Jack is survived by his children, Gwenna (Marshall) Davis, Mitchell (Bobbi) Salsbury and Sherri (Bill) Bowen; his grandchildren, Matthew (Kelli) Davis, Jessica (Dan) Fish, Sean (Cassie) Davis, Lauren Salsbury, Blake (Hannah Heathman) Salsbury; his great-grandchildren, Makenna Davis, Jackson Davis, Tyson Davis, Devan Hiskey, Kaylie Davis, Dillon Davis, and Addison Butler; his sister, MaryLee (Tim) Woods; his dear friend, Judy Jennings; and a host of extended family and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Phyllis Jean Farr Salsbury; and his brothers, Willis and Jim Salsbury.

The family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Norwalk United Methodist Church; 1100 Gordon Avenue, Norwalk, Iowa. Memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice or to the Norwalk United Methodist Church in loving memory of Jack.
