Ila “Jeanie” Sickels, 68, passed away at home on July 30,2024
She was born in Corydon, Iowa on December 04,1955 to Floyd Cross and Lola Bennett.

Jeanie was married to her husband, Ray, August 11,1972, after they met on a blind date.
She enjoyed listening to live music, she went to the fair to listen to a few bands, camping, animals and especially her birds.

Jeanie loved being with her family, she was the “go to” for advice, her grandchildren were her life.

Jeanie is survived by her loving husband, Ray; Sons, William (Christy), Scott (Janett), Brian (Teresa), Jason (Jill); her Sisters, Marilee Cross Ackelson, Julie McClendon, Lois Totten, Rhonda Brown; Brother, Larry Cross; and 12 grandchildren.

Jeanie was proceeded in death by her parents; Floyd Cross, Lola Bennett; Sister, Marva Cross.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on August 5, 2024 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held on August 5,2024 from 12 p.m to 2p.m, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St., in Des Moines.
