Gerald "Gary" Kramer

Gerald "Gary" Allen Kramer, 85, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Ramsey Village in Des Moines.

Gary was born February 15, 1939 to Ervin and Bernice (Wieorek) Kramer in Swan, Iowa. Gary married Mary Gallardo and they were married for 43 years.

Gary worked in sales throughout his life. He owned and operated Hawkeye Pest Control for many years. He was an avid sports fan, following his Hawkeyes, Bears and Chiefs. He rooted for the Iowa Hawkeyes above any other team and made many trips to watch the Hawks play at historic Kinnick Stadium.

Gary is survived by his children, Randy Kramer and Lanie Johnston; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and brothers, Ronnie Kramer and Darrell Kramer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1627 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, Iowa with visitation from 10:00 -11:00 a.m., at the church. Interment will take place at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines immediately following the service.
