Geraldine Tufts was born on September 3, 1927 to William and Pearl (Haney) Lewis. She passed away on June 11, 2024 at Valley View Village.

Gerry was a registered nurse but never practiced. She was a homemaker her entire life valuing her family and hospitality – loving having family and friends over for dinner, she loved being a hostess. Gerry was a member of Altoona Regular Baptist Church. She was very devoted to her beliefs and being a Sunday School teacher. Gerry was an active helper with vacation bible school as well. She loved to garden and play board games. Gerry was a wonderful seamstress – she sewed all of her children’s clothing.

Gerry is survived by her; children, Paula Andrews, Tim (Pam) Tufts, Sharon (Larry) Rogers and Anita (Tom) Prall; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Along with a host of extended family and friends.

Gerry and Bob are reunited into eternal life together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dorothy Everly and Naomi LaPointe.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., at Altoona Regular Baptist Church, 803 3rd Ave. SW, Altoona, Iowa. Family will greet guests one hour prior to services. Burial will take place following services at Bondurant Cemetery in Bondurant, Iowa. Services will be live streamed. Please see the link below her obituary on line.
