Gary O'Kief

Gary Don O’Kief, 60, passed away February 4, 2024. He was born in Lovington, New Mexico on July 19, 1963, the son of Gary and Donna (Banks) O’Kief.

Gary was a Pipe Salesman. He loved NASCAR, number 24 (Jeff Gordon) was his favorite driver. The number “24” was a significant number to him, and oddly or perhaps ironically passing away on 2-4-24. Gary was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, even owning his own. He always said he was a child prodigy on the drum, and in his younger days he was a drummer in a band, when he outgrew his drums that didn’t stop him from “drumming” – he would drum on anything. Gary loved grilling. He was a stubborn man, yet had the gentlest heart. Gary’s greatest love was being a grandpa.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Morgan Richards; son, Garrett O’Kief; girlfriend, Elizabeth “Liz” Bowers; mother, Donna Banks; father, Gary O’Kief; sisters, Lori O’Kief Christensen and his twin sister, Dana O’Kief Myers; brother, Kelly O’Kief and 5 grandchildren.
