Gary Thomas Aswegan, 73, passed away on September 11, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1951 to Gerhart and Delores (Berry) Aswegan.

Gary attended North High School. He worked in sales for Montgomery Ward and then at Dahl’s Grocery Store at Merle Hay until it closed. Gary loved everything Elvis – collecting Elvis memorabilia and listening to his favorite song, Jailhouse Rock. He enjoyed watching cop shows on TV.

Gary is survived by his mother, Delores; siblings, Jane (Gary) Pike and Paul (Melinda) Aswegan; brother-in-law, Gary Swenson; nephews, Nathan Pike and Jacob Aswegan; special friend, Rita Pratt, along with a host of extended family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerhart; sister, Judy Swenson and niece, Stephanie Pike.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, September, 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave., Des Moines.
