Garry L. Dicus

Garry L. Dicus, 72, passed away March 21, 2024, at the VA Medical Center.

Garry was born September 16, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa to Gerald and Irene (Hilburs) Dicus. He served in the United States Army. Garry moved to Des Moines in 1980, prior to that he had lived in Sioux City, El Paso and Hood, Texas, Seattle, Washington and Germany. He was the Head of Administration for the VA Regional Office for many years before his retirement in 2000. Garry enjoyed watching Westerns.

Garry is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marsha; sisters, Deb (Joel), Bridgett and Rhonda; step-son, Glen Hanson; and his grandchildren, Mary Hanson and Uriah Ford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Tonya Swan and Tammy Dicus; brother, Jeff; and granddaughter, Britteny Swan.

A private burial will take place at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
