We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of David “Dave’o” Tullis on May 25, 2024, in Des Moines, Iowa. Despite his departure, we choose to remember David with love and laughter.

David was born on May 14, 1970, to his loving parents Paul and Linda Tullis. He was preceded in death by his mother Linda and his brother Jim Tullis. He shared twenty years of his life with his fiancé Lisa “Honey” Bloch.

David was a dedicated employee at Green Acres Lawn Care & Snow Removal, where he eventually retired in 2022 to pursue his own lawn care business. In his free time, he found joy in volunteering with the Park Community Lions Club and especially the Parks Community Thanksgiving Dinner Drive that his parents founded in 1984.

David had a zest for life and filled his days with activities he loved. He grew up playing baseball and coaching girls softball. His hobbies included spending time with friends, camping, watching his beloved Chicago Bears, singing karaoke, and attempting to fish (although he was never very good at it and wouldn’t touch a fish without a glove!). Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his fiancé Lisa.

David will be dearly missed by all those who knew him, especially his family, cousins, and aunts. Let us remember him for his infectious laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family.

Services for David will be held at: 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church located at 511 Des Moines Street, Des Moines, IA 50309. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family or plant a memorial tree in memory of David.
