Dorene Marie Steele, 85, passed away on December 28, 2024. She was born on April 30, 1939 in Des Moines to Gerald and Eva (Gonsell) Colegrove.

Dorene worked for Wal-Mart in Altoona and Union 76 Truck Stop near Bondurant. She and her husband had worked in the restaurant/bar business for many years when she was younger. Dorene enjoyed working in her yard and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Dorene is survived by her son, Jack (Shelley) Steele of Bondurant; granddaughter, Jessica (Luke) Smith of Boone; great grandchildren, Liam and Maizie along with a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sr.; grandson, Justin Steele; sisters, Dixie Hutzel, Berneice Casebolt and Sharon McClasky; and brother, Gerald “Bud” Colegrove.
